This year we had speakers on Windays conference in Opatija. Microsoft Windays is the largest business technology conference in Croatia and Initium Futuri took part on this year’s technology and virtual conference. On Wednesday 29th April Hall Orhideja Grand Hotel at 18.00 Miroslav Novak and Marko Velić held a lecture entitled "Office in the 3D-in - WPF + XAML + XPS.“ At the presentation, advanced capabilities of Windows Presentation Foundation technology and XPS formats were shown.
Initium Futuri developed its own 'engine' for the management of 3D models in WPF in which provides easy conversion of 2D objects into 3D models. The application of mathematics, and the implementation of Euclidean geometry for the transformation and management of 3D space. 'Printing' any Office document in XPS format, opened a new way for importing 'raw materials' into Engine. At the presentation will be shown very attractive way of importing XPS documents into WPF based application. Such connectivity enables full 3D manipulation of documents in 3D space (rotating objects, rotating the camera, zoom and minimizing objects ...). Beside the usage of XPS documents Engine allows usage of any 3D model in XAML format.
On thursday 30th of April on Virtual Conference Marko Velić hold a lecture on the topic "How to achieve a paperless office using WPF technology and XPS documents. At the presentation were shown case studies of making applications in WPF technology and how XPS technology changes the way employees work in the office. Given the business importance of the notes on paper that are exchanged between two partners there was need for reflect business model into a new information system, and thereby retain the form of paper at the beginning and at the end of the business process. Within the business process XPS format is used as input and application by using virtual ink and the presentation of WPF allows to process documents without printing hard-copy versions.
